
BIOGRAPHY
Raised in North London by European immigrant parents. Schotten’s father, was a book jacket designer and her mother a potter. After leaving art school she joined her father in London at Thames and Hudson ltd where she continued her artistic journey in a nurturing atmosphere, dedicated to the visual arts and its hero's. After 10 glorious years she married and moved to Norfolk to raise a family, where she continued her artistic path.
Schotten has exhibited in East Anglia and across the UK including The National Portrait Gallery John Player Portrait Award, and the Prince's Foundation, Shoreditch.
She has initiated and led several public interest focused projects, funded by Arts Council England, including I’m Not Dead Yet, The East Anglia Rural Building Trade Project and Lives in Science. Schotten will have a solo show at Mandells Gallery in August 2023 with her new work ‘ Pictures from an Exhibition’, inspired by her job as a gallery assistant at The Sainsbury Centre. She was lead in a series of workshops funded by Alzheimer's Research Uk, in 2023.
